Marcel brings more than 17 years of professional football experience across Europe and North America. His career includes FC Augsburg in the Bundesliga, Roda JC in the Eredivisie, and MLS appearances with Sporting Kansas City and Vancouver Whitecaps FC. He represented Canada in 56 senior internationals and five CONCACAF Gold Cups.
A Canada Soccer B Licence coach and Path to Pro’s co-founder and technical director, Marcel helps shape the academy’s coaching approach and player development pathway. His focus is on building technically strong, intelligent and confident players, with clear steps toward higher levels of football.
Through P2P’s relationship with PSV Eindhoven and his wider professional network, Marcel helps create opportunities for young Canadian players to train, compete and be evaluated in European football environments.

Born and raised in Casablanca, Morocco, Othmane Kabbadj—known as Coach Otto—began his football journey at Wydad Athletic Casablanca at the age of five. At 17, he moved to France to study auditing and finance, continuing to compete semi-professionally with Noisy-le-Sec and Aubervilliers in the CFA2 league.
After completing his degree, Othmane moved to Canada to pursue coaching and establish his own football club. He spent four years with Vancouver Whitecaps, working under Bart Choufour and Emma Murphy with boys’ and girls’ Academy and Prospect teams. His experience also includes Mountain United and Fusion FC, with a focus on leadership and player development.
Today, Othmane leads Field Art FC, mentoring coaches and supporting players from U5 to U15. He holds UEFA B and Concacaf A coaching licences, alongside specialist certifications through FC Barcelona in neuroscience in soccer, team training and video analysis. As Path to Pro’s co-founder and technical director, he brings this international experience and technical knowledge to the development of young players.

Andy brings more than 20 years of coaching and player-development experience, with a particular focus on the important U8–U13 years. As Skill Centre Director at Coastal FC, he oversaw development programming for more than 500 players, building strong relationships with families throughout South Surrey.
Nationally licensed by Canada Soccer across the Children’s, Youth and Adult streams, Andy also holds a USSF National Youth Diploma and a United Soccer Coaches Advanced National Diploma. His experience includes three years coaching in Ontario’s high-performance OPDL.
At Path to Pro, Andy focuses on the individual: developing technical ability, sharper decision-making, creativity and game understanding. Through the P2P–PSV partnership, he aims to give young players a challenging, supportive environment where they can build confidence and make steady progress.

Nick Soolsma — full biography

Nick began playing football at a young age in the professional youth academies of FC Volendam and PSV Eindhoven in the Netherlands, and made his professional debut for HFC Haarlem in 2007.
In 2011 he signed for Toronto FC in Major League Soccer, where he led the team in assists in his first season and won the Canadian National Championship in both 2011 and 2012. He played a major role in Toronto’s run to the CONCACAF Champions League semifinal, providing the assist and scoring the winning goal against LA Galaxy. He later returned to the Netherlands with SBV Excelsior and played for South Melbourne FC in Australia.
Nick’s coaching career began in 2013, combining playing and coaching at South Melbourne FC. Since 2014 he has coached across all levels and age groups in Canada, bringing Dutch academy standards to the development of young players.
